Waves of Joy – Torquay Paddleout

On Saturday January 30 surfers and beach lovers came together at Cosy Corner Torquay to protest against plans for seismic blasting and gas/oil extraction in the Otway Basin and Southern Ocean.

Hundreds took to the water while others stood on the shoreline and cheered the paddleout, water slapping and moment of silence.

This is what community looks like... thousands of people from different walks of life coming together with one purpose... to send a message to the Federal and State Governments that they don't want to see seismic blasting and gas/oil extraction in the Otway Basin. Renewables are the future.
