Surf Art & Photography Exhibition Calls for Artists

As part of the 2026 Kirra Longboard Klassic, organisers are proud to announce the return of Waves of Expression - a curated surf art and photography exhibition celebrating the culture, creativity, and coastline of Kirra.

Running from July 22 to August 2, 2026, the exhibition will be showcased across the Kirra Hill Community Centre and selected locations throughout the event precinct, forming a vibrant cultural hub alongside one of Australia’s premier surf lifestyle festivals.

Following a successful inaugural year, Waves of Expression returns with an expanded vision - bringing together artists and photographers to present work that captures the spirit, movement, and lifestyle of Kirra. 

Call for Artists Now Open

Artists and photographers are invited to submit expressions of interest across a range of mediums, including:

·        Paintings, mixed media, and surfboard art

·        Interactive and installation-based works

·        Action, portrait, and landscape photography

The exhibition aims to highlight Kirra’s unique identity and coastal energy, creating a space where art, surf culture, and community connect. 

Exhibition Highlights

·        Opening Night (Invitation Only):
A special launch event bringing together sponsors, VIP guests, local leaders, and the creative community

·        Artist Awards:
Including People’s Choice and category awards presented during the Kirra Longboard Klassic weekend

·        Community Impact:
A portion of proceeds will support local initiatives, reinforcing the event’s commitment to giving back
