50-years behind the lens - water and land.
Highway to Heaven
New Brighton Pier From Baz
Pier Found Floating
12 August 24
The exhibition runs until 8 September in Dune Café South New Brighton Christchurch NZ:
Photos of waves and surf line-ups taken around Canterbury and Kaikoura make up this exhibition which spans 45 years of Warren’s 50 year portfolio. It is made up of 16 framed prints and 16 smaller prints on a photo board which people can purchase or order from. All prints are hand numbered in their print series and judging by the large number of sales on the opening night this is a successful exhibition.
The launch was open to 100 invited guests who viewed and mingled to the guitar vibes of Carl Everett and Lindsay Harmon before Warren shared a little of his shooting history. Jono Smit then shared his short film festival documentary ‘They Call Me Wazza’ about Warren’s background in surf photography and recent battle with Stage 3c bowel cancer.
It was a great night and Dune café is a fantastic venue being one block back from South New Brighton Beach with a welcoming atmosphere and great food and coffee. The only down side is that is so popular a visit around 9.00am or after 2.30pm Wednesday through to Sunday is advised to get a close up, uncrowded view of this wonderful exhibition.
