The latest collaboration between CJ Nelson and South Coast shaper Ian Chisholm, and intriguingly, the Slasher Low Pro is “not a log, and it’s not an HP”.
Ian has been designing, shaping and glassing his boards from his family-owned Torquay business for 30 years and has worked with a roll call of world-beating longboarders across the decades and made countless boards start-to-finish for dedicated customers locally and internationally.
CJ, the tearaway young California proto logger of the early 2000s and still one of the very best longboarders in the world, is a renowned equipment freak who has never stuck to the one lane when it comes to design, and he and Ian have worked on a bunch of boards together over many years.
“From 9’ to 10’, the Slasher Low Pro is not a log, not an HP, but a fresh vehicle to take longboarding into the future,” says Jazz at South Coast. “Along with performance rails for shredability, beveled concave for technical noseriding, and the wide point back for whip and control, it also has some hidden features that we think make this board quite possibly the smartest and most rippable longboard ever designed.”
That’s quite a wrap for sure, but the Slasher Low Pro sure has pedigree - and some Aussie PLB magazine subscriber is going to own their very own 9’6” Chiz + CJ South Coast colab by next issue!
