A new single day fun longboard event designed to bring together like-minded local amateur surfers in a fun filled day of surfing. Not looking for future world champions just surfers that like to surf Kirra.
Board criteria can be from 7ft mini-mals up, but judging will be longboard criteria, with the emphasis on fun.
An important part of our community are those surfers that need extra help to get into the surf and to catch a few waves. We will be including a disabled surfers section for a limited number of surfers who are unable to surf in an actual competitive division. Surfers helping surfers.
Ray “The Godfather” Gleave will be conducting a free workshop on what the judges are looking for in competition.
There are two longboard board giveaways from Nigel Beckham Surfboards and from Dane Robb Shapes for lucky competitors.
The inaugural event is set for Sunday 11th August 2019 Entries are now open to anyone in the following divisions:
Open Women, Logs and Over 45s and can be found ONLINE HERE or from Kirra Koffee under the Kirra SLSC.
We are also looking for volunteers to help in setting up and helping the day to run smoothly.
More information is available at Kirra Longboard Klassic or by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
