News from the Woolgoolga Longboard Club:

It’s on again, save the weekend for the Woolgoolga Longboard Club’s annual November Classic, held over two exhilarating days on the stunning beaches of Arrawarra, this year’s competition promises to be bigger and better than ever.  This event is well known for fun.

Our competition site, Arrawarra Headland & Middle Mullawarra is more than just a great surf spot; it’s a place of deep cultural and spiritual significance to the Gumbaynggirr people, particularly the Garby Elders. The headland is part of the Solitary Islands Marine Park, and it’s home to ancient stone fish traps that have been used by the local Aboriginal people for thousands of years. We’re honored to host our event on this land, and we encourage everyone who joins us to take a moment to appreciate the cultural richness that surrounds us.

Woolgoolga itself is the perfect base for a weekend getaway. With several caravan parks just a short drive from the competition site, you’ll find comfortable accommodations and plenty of amenities nearby. Whether you’re grabbing a morning coffee at one of our fantastic local cafes or stocking up on supplies, Woolgoolga has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable.

This year, Woolgoolga Diggers Club will be the heart of our social scene. The sign-on, and raffle draw will kick off the festivities on the evening before the competition begins. Expect a night full of camaraderie, and the excitement of our raffles, where you could win a custom-made Freeflight surfboard and other giveaways.

Throughout the competition, we’ll be firing up the BBQs daily, offering a delicious array of food that reflects the vibrant cultural tapestry of Woolgoolga.

In addition to classic BBQ fare, we’ll be serving locally made Indian curries.

We’re looking forward to another memorable November Classic, and we hope you’ll be there to share the stroke with us. Whether you’re competing, supporting a friend, or just soaking up the atmosphere, come along and join us.
