The Hotdogger returns to Manhattan Pier – prizemoney, music, superdogging

23 September 23

News from Eddie Solt: We are back! Our contest pays homage to traditional surfing and surf culture. All contestants ride surfboards modelled after surfboards from the 1960s.

South Bay is the original surf city (still is in my opinion) with five of the world's biggest surfboard manufacturers showrooms and factories in city - we celebrate this.

We have a widely popular old surfboard heat called "The Superdogger".

Our contestants (like 30 in one heat) take these old pre-68 surfboards for a spin. Cash prize, as contestants are required to put a 20 in jar and wear a Hawaiian shirt for identification purposes. Best wave takes the pot. We invite a 60s celebrity surf star to judge. Last year, we had David Nuuwiha.

Our regular surf heats, bring out the best of local, regional, and world-wide longboarders to compete.

We have a $3300 cash purse with equal payouts.
