TEA TAKES DELIVERY OF THE CARABINE PIGLET – OUR BOARDWINNER #103

28 August 24

Téa Wallace-Carroll from Avalon on Sydney’s Northern Beaches arrived home from a trip to Bali visiting her son and his family who live in Canguu, just in time to take delivery of her brand new Carabine 9’4” Piglet.

“The board arrived the day after we got back, and it’s really beautiful, great looking shape and perfect colour and finish.

“Unfortunately I haven't been able to surf it yet as I've twisted my left knee. But I've already showed the Piglet off to a few people to some interesting responses, all positive! And I've got to say, having been a fan back in the day, it reminds me a little of the 'laser' shapes from Geoff McCoy for Cheyne Horan with this wider tail and narrowing nose. It looks like a really good noserider, and I would think perfect for Nth Avalon. This board will get handed around among the family . . . what a brilliant surprise this is!”

Designed by teamrider Aidan Cashin and shaped by the guru Terry Bishop, The Piglet is Carabine’s newest model, and with that rounded pin it has a “less-of-a-pig” plan-shape which allows you to turn it more easily from further up the board, and it’s a great noserider – just a user-friendly board all round.

A Wollongong instiution, Carabine Surfboards recently completed the gargantuan and no doubt bittersweet task of moving factory after more than 50 years at the same location! (Imagine the build-up of resin on the floor just for starters!)

Check out Carabine at their new digs at Unit 74, 6 Bellambi Lane, Bellambi, or online at https://carabine.surf/
