Best known for his character Pee-wee Herman, actor, comedian and writer Paul Reubens moved on to his next Big Adventure on this day one year ago (1952 - 2023).

Here he’s tackling The Trashmen’s gloriously silly “Surfin’ Bird” in the 1987 cult movie classic Back to the Beach – directed by Aussie Lyndall Hobbs.
