From Burleigh Brewing: Surf:Craft is a community celebration of the handmade surfboard. We will bring the community together to talk story, show builds and really make some noise about the proud history of creativity and innovation that defines the Australian surfboard.
Join us on Saturday 6th of April for a community celebration of hand-made surfboards at the Burleigh Brewing Taphouse, Gold Coast Qld, from 12:00pm - 9:00pm.
The genius Jack McCoy and Derek Hynd will be showcasing their opus, “A Deeper Shade of Blue” set to screen on the Outdoor cinema from 7:00pm.
We will have a number of renowned exhibitors featuring their talented work on the day;
Clearwater - Steve del Rosso, Wayne Lynch, Sean Nettleton, Dale Wilson, Yoshi Takeda, Chris Garrett, Richard Harvey, Phil Myers, Keyo Sydney, Campbell Brothers, Dan McDonald, Mitchel Rae, Jimmy Surfboards, Christian Chapman, Thomas Surfboards, Rod Morgan, Joel Fitzgerald, Ian Byrne, Town & Country, Gary McNeil, Luke Daniels, Matty Yates, Jamie Byrne, Matt Green
All who will be eligible for the Surf:Craft “Best in Show” awards for both shape and glasswork/art. The best bit…You will decide the winner!
Each category carries a prize determined by peoples’ choice and judge’s input of $3,000!
So make sure you vote on the day! We know how hard it is to make a profit from locally built boards, so this event is our little way of paying tribute to all the talented board builders who do it for the love.
The “If Surfboards Could Talk” segment; a 15-minute talk story every hour with an iconic surfer or shaper. Expect to hear some of the greatest talk about a board that was pivotal in their surfing journey on the hour every hour.⠀
