Surf Art Exhibition Warms Winter

7 June 19

As winter hits Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in a brutal blow, surfers are being warmed by an exhibition of surf art held in Caloundra in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast Surf Film Festival (SCSFF).

The exhibition that features works by twelve artists has been embraced by the loyal patrons of the annual SCSFF and has given local artists a place to connect with their audience. With artworks ranging from photographs to painted boards, there are artworks to suit all tastes.

Lizzie Connor’s painted surfboards effortlessly capture the nostalgia of days spent with friends chasing waves to far-flung beaches.  While Jack MacRae’s minimalist landscapes invoke peace with unlikely colour palettes.

Surfers Tracy Naughton, Amanda Davidson and Beck Lee use their paintings to celebrate their love of surfing from a uniquely female perspective.

Red ink Rodeo Creative Studio is situated in the Strand building in Caloundra with entry off Knox Ave.

It is open Tuesday to Friday 10am to 2pm and for an hour before the screening of SCSFF films.

Contact Grace McClymont on 0413 084 175 for more information or to arrange a viewing outside these times.

Tickets and film details for SCSFF can be found HERE
