As part of the Manly Arts Festival: From surfing, underwater and big waves, there’s a story for everyone. A weekend showcasing images taken in the ocean, as well as each photographer providing technical and creative talks on their work.
During our exhibition, we will each provide an artist talk, and be open to discussion and questions about our work.
The exhibition will be on at the Queenscliff Surf Club and from 8am Saturday September 21st morning until 5pm on Sunday 22nd.
Official opening night will be Saturday 21st September, starting at 5pm.
Live music, sponsors and artist talks will make up part of the exhibition.
We will also organise a live demo of shooting in the ocean at Queenscliff. Details to be confirmed.
Mark Morgan - Manly based surf and underwater photographer. Marks work focuses on capturing moments and emotion in and around the ocean, whether it's surfing, portraiture, lifestyle imagery, or underwater.
Seamus Byrne - An emerging surf and lifestyle photographer based in the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Seamus' works focus around the relaxed surf culture and the beautiful waters that surround Sydney's beaches. Through this, he captures emotive moments in and between waves.
Catherine Mary Rose - Cat Foulstone is a northern beaches based photographer. Her work explores escapism, offered at the hands of the ocean. Wide open expanses and fluidity in motion directly juxtapose the hustle of urban life - a welcome reprise that so many of us can appreciate.
John Wolfson - John Wolfson photography has become an essential form of expression. Feeling absorbed in the subject matter that surrounds. Having grown up on the northern beaches, the ocean provides much fulfilment as both surfer and photographer. His works often flow from reality into abstraction.
