Polyola — Sustainable foam

Huge news! Wild Things have teamed up with Bennett Surf to bring Polyola's innovative surfboard blanks to Australia. 

For years now the wider surf industry has all been hoping for a more sustainable alternative to the standard dirty PU blank, something that does not compromise performance and wont end up in landfill. Enter Polyola, a European company who have developed a recyclable surfboard foam without sacrificing strength and durability.

The blanks are from recycled foam. Then after use, a polyola surfboard can be recycled into a new blank! They are also made with a process that is less toxic than standard PU. The foam performs beautifully and is a dream to shape too.

Robin (founder of Gato Herói) has been working closely with Polyola for a while now and could not be happier with the consistency of the foam and the performance of the blanks. Robin is fanatical about the blanks he uses and has shaped and surfed Polyola in France for a few years now with great results.

Wild Things has teamed up with Bennetts to bring out a container of these blanks to Australia to test.

The plan is to start getting them under people's feet, while working towards a local manufacturing solution.

This delivery has been offered to Australian shapers to test, and a select few blanks are still available directly from Wild Things and Bennett Surf but not for long!
