Three months back John Sorby won our subscriber board which was to be a “Shakey” model, which is pretty much Carabine Longboards “modern log”. We hooked him up with Carabine’s head honcho Shane Hornby, and after they got chatting somehow they decided on a custom 9’8” "Space Pig" model instead – and that was with all the bells and whistles, including batik artwork inlaid under the nose that John had painted in Bali years ago.

An accomplished artist from Newcastle, rather than getting Space Pig shipped up from the Carabine factory/shop in Wollongong, John decided he’d take the family on a drive down to pick it up in person. A good news story ‘round – and one particularly beautiful custom surfboard.

Carabine have been building surfboards for 51 years straight and it’s a label that runs deep in the DNA of South Coast and Australian surfing – and they’re sure powering along these days with longboards, short, and everything in between.
