Duranbah Beach, Tweed. Four new Australian Longboard and Logger Champions were crowned today at Duranbah Beach today following an exciting day of action in playful two-to-three foot waves.

Two-times World Longboard Champion Harley Ingleby (Emerald Beach, NSW) added another stellar result to his already overflowing portfolio of results, taking out the Open Men’s division. Ingleby – who claimed his last Australian Title in Coffs Harbour in 2016 – put on an excellent performance in the final, posting a 15.00 two-wave heat total to get the edge against runner-up Nic Jones (Buderim, Qld) by a tiny 0.35 margin. The victory is Ingleby’s fourth Australian Open Men’s Title.

Clinton Guest (Burleigh Waters, Qld) claimed his second Open Men’s Logger Title in as many years, taking out the highly competitive division. Guest surfed to the criteria over the duration of the final, stylish executing a variety of drawn-out carves and nose-rides. Guest was rewarded with a giant 17.75 two-wave heat total to take the win ahead of Open Men’s Longboard Champion Harley Ingleby who finished in the runner-up position.

Emily Lethbridge (Noosaville, Qld) dazzled the Open Women’s competition claiming the coveted Australian Title only 200 meters away from her home state.  Lethbridge remained one of the standout performers over the entirety of the Open Women’s division never losing a heat and continually posting excellent scores. Lethbridge hit her peak in the final when she notched up a solid 15.50 two-wave heat total to leave her closest rival requiring a 9.16 to take away her lead.

Lethbridge backed up the performance with another victory in the Open Women’s Logger division. Lethbridge put on an impeccable display of surfing in the final to tick up a 12.85 two-wave heat total and claim her second title for Queensland. As a result, Lethbridge was awarded the SAE Power Performer award.

Both Open Men and Women Longboard champions claimed $1500.00, while the Open Logger Champions claimed $500.00.
