A lifetime surfer raised in his parent’s original surf shop and shaping bay in Port Macquarie, Ryan Chelman’s been building all sorts of surfboards full-time since 2007, originally under his Black Square label, but these days under the Chelman Surfboards logo out of Yamba.

Ryan glasses, sands and finishes them all himself, and this beauty with its paulownia stringer is a traditionally styled but tuned double ender glassed old-school in volan.

There’s been a lot of road testing invested into this model over the years in beachbreaks and on the points, and with 60/40 rails and little bit of vee in the tail, it’s a super versatile 9’1” single-fin for small waves or size.
