It’s forever amazing to us the sorts of people who subscribe to PLB. The common denominator of course is that they’re all surf nuts, but beyond that they’re of all ages and from all walks of life. And it’s a great buzz every issue to be able to phone a random reader and tell them they just won a beautiful big surfboard.
The manager of a team of techs at a digital signage company, Michael Nesteroff was floored with the news he was now about to take possession of a Nettleton Surfboards Multiply model. “It’s just not what you’re expecting to hear, this is just incredible really! Every issue I look at those boards and winners and think ‘look at those lucky buggers haha!’”
Michael has been surfing Mona Vale and Newport on the Northern Beaches for 50 plus years, also more recently at Narrabeen and Curl Curl with friends. Lately though he’s “had a few health issues, but I’m in remission. I’m back! I lost a little strength and fitness, but I’m working on it, and having something like this happen, winning this beautiful board, it really gives you a push! I mean . . . whoopee!”
Whoopee indeed! Sean Nettleton created the Multiply a few years back with Belinda Baggs and it’s the most versatile board in his range of models. Belinda wanted a longboard she could travel with and be confident it would work in all conditions – noseride, turn and trim with speed – and after a few boards and some tweaking the Multiply was born. Peeling points or punchy beachbreaks this board adapts and gives the rider full confidence. Over to you Michael, enjoy.
