Kirra Longboard Klassic – full program for July 26 to 28 – nearly here!

The annual Kirra Longboard Klassic is not just about competition, but also community and fun: 

Friday Night - Meet and Greet

Kick off the weekend at St Helens Bar and Burgers on Musgrave Street, Kirra. Join us for the Meet and Greet where you can pick up your registration pack and enjoy a beer courtesy of Your Mates Brewing who are shouting a keg of Kirra Klassic Lager. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow participants and get into the spirit of the event.

Saturday - Fluro Saturday Mental Health Initiative

Help us set up the area in the morning and then be part of the Fluro Saturday Mental Health initiative. Come dressed in your most outlandish fluro colors to support this mental health initiative.

Competitive Surfing Starts

The competition begins at 7 AM sharp. The Kirra Longboard Club will be firing up the barbecue, and there will be land-based activities, including a book signing by Pauline Menczer "Surf Like a Woman" 

Our environmental manager, Mick, will conduct a workshop on recycling to protecting our planet. To top it off, the morning, Kali from Healing at Heart will be presenting Totally Twisted, a Fascial Release and Body Reset workshop.

Beach Bar and Entertainment

Your Mates Beach Bar opens at 1 PM. Enjoy watching the surfing while sipping a cold beer. Entertainment will kick off around 3pm with Tom Avery aka Black Boi, followed by Gavin Doniger and his Muscilito Blues. Sometime during the evening, you could win a brand-new 9’6 Noserider from The Surfboard Warehouse—you need to be there to win!

Sunday - Finals and More Fun

Sunday is all about the finals! Groms, start your morning with free surfing lessons from the Kirra Point Surf School for the microgroms. We will also have disabled surfing on display and will need some helping hands to assist these surfers enjoy some surf.

Fancy Dress and Presentation

End the weekend with our fun Fancy Dress session in the water. There’s a great prize for the best fancy dress participant who catches a wave. The event presentation will take place back at Your Mates Beach Bar, which opens at 1 PM.
