The Kirra Klassic is a fun longboard event designed to bring together like-minded local amateur surfers. Not looking for future world champs, just surfers that like to surf Kirra, with the most anticipated award being “Macca”, given to the participant having the most fun.
For the first time, this year welcomes the Trans Tasman Test - as selected Aussie Vs Kiwi surfing talent representing their respective country will go head-to-head showcasing their skills on both shortboards and longboards.
This year’s event is supported with cultural, entertainment, lifestyle & environmental activations with the inclusion of the Women’s Surf Festival. (More detail on the WSF on this NewsWire, also on the PLB website.)
Divisions contested Open Male, Female, Under 18, Over 45s, Logger, Defence Force Veterans, and the highly anticipated Fancy Dress.
An important part of our community are those surfers that need extra help to get into the surf to catch a few waves. We will be including a disabled surfer’s section for a limited number of surfers who are unable to surf in an actual competitive division. Surfers helping surfers.
Running over two days on July 10 and 11 at Kirra Point.
