“Hangin' 5” by The Deltones – 1963 clip from Bandstand

The greatest daggy surf song ever? Vocals from the Deltones. "Hangin' 5" was written by Ben Acton who was detective with the police force and a member of the Manly Surf Club (a surfing musical copper).

This clip has a false start but then kinda gets it together with a hodgepodge of Hawaiian surf, onshore Australian slop, and a stomp somewhere in Sydney – which was good enough for Aussie TV in 1963.
