The Under 18 Boy’s Longboard final saw a stacked show down between some of Queensland’s finest junior longboarders.

Agnes Local Arci Doble called upon local knowledge to hold off the Smales brothers (Noosa Heads, QLD) Kaiden and Landen. Doble looked relaxed at the point as he demonstrated some traditional and contemporary style in the water.

“The waves were way better than they looked from the beach, last week was the best I’ve ever seen the point in 12 years of living here so I felt warmed up for my final,” said Doble.

A nail biting finish in the Open Men’s longboard division saw Sunderland and Doble battle it out for their second trophy for the weekend. It came down to the wire between the two surfers in the second aggregate final with judges being forced to look at the highest heat totals of the weekend, with Sunderland coming it at just .29 ahead of Doble to secure his second win for the weekend.
