Ocean Grove's SOUL Longboard Club (Southern Ocean Union of Longboarders Inc.) is once again running the Victorian Old Mal and Logger Titles, and things are going to get pretty hot with the talent that has entered already for this year.
Among them are multiple Aussie Champ and long time SOUL member Ben Considine, who is currently on a world tour of longboard comps and he will be back in fine form to challenge for the title.
NSW are sending down some old mal and logger specialists, including father and son team John and Jack Norton and Lara Murphy.
South Australia also has a number of representatives also including another father and son combination Tom and Chris Bowen.
This comp has now been running for seven years and has established itself as a must-do comp if you’re into the history and style of longboarding.
The event will be held at Victoria’s mecca for longboarding, Point impossible. The long right hand reef break allows surfers plenty of space and time to complete maneuvers in the high scoring range.
This is a mobile event so it has the capability to move to different locations if needed particularly the class beach breaks along 13th Beach.
A full day’s surfing is on the cards so if you’re not in it come along and watch some of the best old school and stylish Longboarders in the country.
29th June at Point Impossible.
