1965 BBC footage "News From Australia”

Surfing and wedge-tail eagles? Why not. This mixed-tape Pom newsreel was ferreted from the bowels of British Pathe’s historical collection by Ian "Danger" Lording.

Check out the colonials at the Australian Surfboard Championships at "Manley” in 1965. 

A very young Kevin ‘Head' Brennan and an equally young Wayne Lynch (identified as Peter Drouyn) share some tiny ones in the Juniors. 

Bob Cooper makes a cameo, probably judging, while Midget takes out the Seniors over Nat and McTavish, with Mr BBC doing the plummy commentary.
