Duranbah: After a giant week on the beaches of the Tweed, 12 further national champions were crowned at the Australian Longboard and Logger Titles.

Scott Trew (Gabbadah, WA) ensured an Australian Title would cross the continent, taking out the Over-40 Men’s Logger Titles. Trew put on a dominant display of traditional surfing to post a solid 15.50 two-wave heat total, which left his fellow finalists requiring two-wave combinations to take away his lead. The win is Western Australia’s first title of the 2019 SAE Group Australian Surf Championships.

Emma Webb (Jan Juc, NSW) added another Australian Title to her already stellar portfolio, taking out the Over-40 Women’s division. Webb shone in the final, performing a handful of critical turns and stylish nose rides to post a decent 12.25 two-wave heat total and get nod ahead of Queensland's Kirsty Quirk (Noosaville, Qld), Kirsty Best (Coolangatta, Qld) and Peppie Simpson (Cooroibah, Qld) who claimed second, third and fourth respectively.

Jason Livingston (Curl Curl, NSW) etched his name into the 2019 SAE Group Australian Surf Championships history books, being the only surfer to claim two divisions. Livingston put on a dominant display of surfing across the Over-45 and Over-50 Men’s finals to claim the top spot in both divisions with massive heat totals. Over the course of the event, Livingston remained undefeated, winning every heat he surfed.

Leith Goebel (North Stradbroke, Qld) backed up yesterday’s stellar performance with another amazing performance in the Over-60 Women’s division. In a similar fashion to the first round of the division yesterday, Goebel nailed an excellent two-wave heat total in the 17-point range, which left her fellow finalists requiring two-wave combinations to take away her lead.

All other results can be found below.

In an Australian first, the Australian Longboard Titles is being Head Judged by former Women's World Longboard Champion Tory Gilkerson. Gilkerson brings a wealth of knowledge to the role and will oversee the entire eight days of longboard competition.
