HELP REMOTE MENTAWAI COMMUNITIES – AND MAYBE WIN A TRIP FOR TWO TO KANDUI VILLAS WITH BARTON LYNCH
Monday, 21 August 2017

In March 2015, A Perfect Foundation opened up the very first Education and Conservation Centre in the Mentawai Islands of Indonesia. Located in a small coastal village called Mapadegat on the island of Sipora, they offer educational programmes in English, environmental awareness, as well as surfing and water awareness.

They had discovered the communities wanted to learn essential English skills and sustainable practices, so they could be a part of the growing tourism industry in their region and create a better future for themselves.

The majority of these island chains have no waste management facilities, so a large part of rubbish ends up in the ocean and beaches of the islands as the waste is thrown into rivers, dumped by the side of the road or burned. As part of their environmental initiatives, they organise various educational activities with the local community and recently introduced a recycling and waste management program.

To continue these programs they need to relocate and build a new Centre so are running a crowd-funding campaign giving you the opportunity to win a trip for two staying at Kandui Villas with surfing legend Barton Lynch!

If you want to help A Perfect Foundation preserve one of the last few remaining places on the planet that has unique cultural and ecological assets, then donate by selecting the $50 perk and go into the draw to win the trip for two on a humanitarian mission to the Mentawai Islands!

This will be a contribution trip of a lifetime where you get to stay at a eco-friendly island paradise, meet traditional shamans, get involved with implementing water filters in nearby villages in collaboration with Waves 4 Water and visit the new Education and Conservation Centre which you made happen!

Jump onboard now to help make the Mentawai Islands plastic free creating a sustainable future for these remote communities.
