Lennox Head Main Beach: Pristine weather, sun and plenty of it, with a small swell lining up clean peelers for some classic longboarding, the MP 20th Lennox Longboard Classic 2017 went down a treat over the weekend of 12/13 August.

100 competitors fronted up covering eight divisions. Standout longboarding came from Mike Pimm, (fresh from the Australian Longboard Champs @ Cabarita the preceding week) 2nd in the Over 40s and winning the Over 60s.

Ambre Damestoy visiting from France styled in the Ladies, winning their final, while local lad Scott Channon finally broke through for a win in the Open Mens, after patronizing this event since he was a junior.

Newcomer in the Old Mal / Loggers division Myles Doughman from Coorabell showed all the traditional longboarding moves winning the double Loggers & the Noseriding award.

The Major Sponsor this Year was Mobile Plumbing Lennox Head with the naming rights and Rip Curl Ballina the other Major sponsor. We thank all sponsors who came on board for the 20th year of this event.

Three Longboards went to new owners, winners over the weekend:
Amos Shapes longboard to Jason Shrieves from Ballina. Frank McWilliams longboard to Colin Small from Burleigh Heads.

And a Logger malibu from Free Flight (Phil Myers Lennox Head) to Dan Croskery of Palm Beach on the Goldy. Thank you to all the shapers for the longboards for this event.

Special Note always goes to the water safety crew from the Lennox surf lifesaving Club for two days of keeping us all safe.

Proceeds from the Classic are forwarded to our benefiting organisations as in the past: Cancer Council NSW and the Disabled Surfing Association.

In summary it was a cracker weekend of longboarding @ Lennox Head.
Thanks to the organising committee Grant, George & Greg and to all who participated to make it such a great weekend.
