THE 33RD LOGGER HEADS AT SCOTTS HEAD - YES! YES! YES!
Saturday, 8 July 2017

The Logger Heads Club is hosting their annual Malibu Classic for the 33rd  successive year, attracting surfers from Noosa to Victoria, including several State & National champions of both today & yesteryear.

Scotts Head point is the ultimate venue for longboarding in the Nambucca Valley area, being well protected from the cold southerly winds and offering surfers a sand bottom point break, that on it's day can produce a ride that seems endless! Suitable for all members of the surfing family. The travelling surfers encounter a time warp of country soul, combine that with the Logger Heads reputation for "having fun" ....  &  you have a formula that's hard to beat!

The LH's Malibu Classic caters for 180+ longboarders, surfing in 13 divisions ranging from Bennett Surfboards -Juniors (under 18yrs ), to the Bob Brown Surfboards - 0/65's. Including a good roll up of 18, for the Rainbowbay Longboard O/35yr Ladies. The contest has great family involvement, with many "family entrants" vying for the  Family Achievement Award.

The Logger Heads Malibu Classics of the past have attracted some of Australia's best longboard surfers, this year is no exception with such calibre surfers as; Mike Pimm of Pottsville,  Paul Scholten of Woolgoolga;  Ross Cribb of Evans Head;  Jack Norton of Belmont;  Daniel Bond of Arrawarra;   Sput & Chris Keevers of Byron Bay.... the list goes on!

Local surfers tipped to fair well are,  Troy Martin (current LH's club champion) & Mark Fuller in the Club Scotts Over 55's. Alan Sheldon of Valla & Geoff Woodhouse of Scotts Hd., will be hard to beat in the Munro Surfboards – over 60's; Manda Godfrey will give competitors a good run for their money in the O/35 Ladies; while Troy Martin of Algomerra will have a strong challenge in the Rob West Memorial - Old Mal division.
