BELLS LAUNCHES SURF FILMMAKERS FUND
Tuesday, 11 April 2017

The Bells Beach Surf Film Festival has announced the inaugural recipients of financial grants from its Bells Beach Filmmakers Fund (BBFF).

The festival had a successful season this year and decided to create an ongoing fund to provide financial support to new and emerging surf filmmakers.

The inaugural recipients of the BBFF are:

PACIFICO (Chris Gooley) Australia
SECOND SOUFFLE (Thomas Queyraud) France
GAUCHOS DEL MAR (Joaquin & Julian Azulay) Argentina
ULUALOHA (Etienne Aurelius) Hawaii

Festival Director John Foss spoke highly of the first group of surf filmmakers to receive a grant from the BBFF: “We were stoked to make a small profit at this years festival which we are now donating to some of the most talented surf film makers around the world. Surf films bring so much joy to audiences around the world and to our festival each summer. By giving something back to the filmmakers we hope to encourage them to continue exploring and creating films which examine different aspects of surf culture in Australia and around the world.”

The Bells Beach Surf Film Festival returns to Torquay in January 2018 for a record eight year bringing the best surf films to the Surf Coast.
