Save The Waves Film Festival announces Best Short Film Award for "Upcycling"

Save The Waves Film Festival is pleased to announce that the film "Upcycling" is the winner of the film festival's 2012 Best Short Film Award Presented by Clif Bar.

"Upcycling" follows the transformation of an old surfboard into a new surfboard. Amidst the beauty of this transformational process, a new insight is revealed: changes in habits emerge, original values that are revisited under intimate, sensitive, and necessary change. "Upcycling" is a 13-minute short film made in Brazil and directed by Henry Perrone, produced by Studio Indigo, Amago Images and Ogro Surfboards.

The winner of the Best Short Film Award at Save The Waves Film Festival receives a 1-year supply of Clif Bar products. The Brazilian filmmaking team responsible for creating "Upcycling" has generously decided to donate its Clif Bar winnings to a local food charity.

In November 2012, Save The Waves Film Festival traveled to 3 California coastal cities for its unique 1-night film and music program. Save The Waves Film Festival 2012 is presented by Patagonia, Clif Bar and Teva.
