Three of the world’s most courageous and outrageous big wave riders will show their films and tell their stories at one of the biggest nights of free entertainment at the Noosa Cricks Jeep Festival of Surfing on Monday, March 11.

Two-times world champion Tom Carroll and his big wave partner Ross Clarke Jones, both Australian Surfing Hall of Famers, will present their hit movie, Storm Surfers, while Sunshine Coast extreme adventurer Mark Visser will present his amazing documentary, Nightrider. After the screenings on the big screen at PJ Burns Festival Village, all three big wave heroes will join Festival director Phil Jarratt for an inspirational chat session about what it takes to ride huge waves.

Jeep ambassador Mark Visser overcame all odds to successfully ride four huge waves at Jaws on Maui in the middle of the night of January 20, 2011. The resulting documentary, Nightrider, is the first part of a series called Nine Lives. Mark is currently waiting on a Southern Ocean monster swell to complete the series by parachuting onto a mid-ocean reef.

Tom Carroll and Ross Clarke Jones, two of the best-loved figures in Australian surfing, have seen Storm Surfers become a huge multi-media hit, with theatre showings in 3-D, games and apps available and a DVD version coming out in March. They are now working on new extreme adventures.

Big Waves, Big Hearts will be a free all-ages event, with proceeds from a gold coin collection and celebrity auction going to the Festival’s designated charity. Visit for more information and follow us on Facebook.
