VIDEO: SURFING 28 STATES; INDIA Wednesday, 14 November 2012
‘Surfing 28 States: India’ is an adventure travel series that documents a three-month sojourn by Aussie surfers and filmmakers Jonno Durrant and Stefan Hunt as they make their way across the 28 different states that make up modern day India. “This was the most challenging and insane adventure of my lifetime,” Stefan says.
Jonno and Stefan perform charitable works amid India’s diverse 28 states, while using rickshaws, yaks, waterslides and still other interesting means to “surf” even those that are landlocked. Six half-hour episodes will premiere weekly on Outside TV starting Friday November 16, 9:30pm
est/pst. There will also be six webisodes released weekly online with additional content.“We are really excited to share our wild and unique experiences from India with veryone,” says Jonno.
Similar to their work in Telluride Film Festival and X-Dance-recognized “Surfing 50 States: USA” and “Somewhere Near Tapachula,” the pair’s adventures introduce viewers to the complexities of India’s 1.2 billion inhabitants, over 140 religions, 1,652 languages, and travels across the world’s worst back roads, including a brush with death in the Himalayas.
