Event coordinator Wayne Booth reports:
The 15 Annual Lennox Longboard Classic 2012 comes to us on the first weekend of August at Lennox Head. Major Sponsor & naming rights is the Old Guys Rule organisation, now with us for the third year.
The event covers 10 Age & Gender Divisions from Juniors to Over 60s with Old Mal, Loggers & Ladies. In the past the Classic has attracted longboard enthusiasts from all along the East coast of Oz from QLD to SA .
Other major support for the event comes from Global Surf Industries with three longboards as giveaways, one our raffle board & two boards as competitor giveaways on the Saturday night festivities at the Lennox Hotel.
Saturday 4th lines up with heats & some semi finals, with Sunday finishing off semifinals & finals filling in the day. The preso will be at the Lennox Hotel post 3pm.
So to sum up the event, A get together in the spirit of competition & fun. With always some classy longboarding moves & displays.

LATEST LENNOX CLUB ROUND REPORT, JUNE 2012:
Surfed on Sunday 17th due to poor condition's on the 1st Sunday of June & the All Girls Showdown 2012 on weekend 2. 17 Club members were greeted at Lennox Main by pristine winter conditions, though the water was dirty after two east coast lows & rain hitting the coast for 2 to 3 weeks, & the wind offshore allday.
Standout surfer for the round was Jason Geggie riding a borrowed board, winning the Firsts. Great result for him after returning from the starting of the fatherhood journey.
Sponsor vouchers to be drawn twice in the next round on Sunday July 1st. To sum up this club round, it was probably the most complete & perfect day for a round in 2012, due to the elements finally coming together, with the sea, sand banks, & weather combining to make it a great Sunday.
