One of Australia's most iconic surf brands-Golden Breed, has opened a new concept store just around the corner from the famed surf of First Point Noosa Heads in Queensland – Australia.
Golden Breed, originally born in California USA, shot to icon status in Australia throughout the '70s (as a licence) under the direction of then surf mogul John Arnold from South Australia.
Golden Breed established itself as the pre eminent Australian surf brand with a roster of international surf stars such as Gerry Lopez.
The label was famous not only for its elite surfers but its surf inspired casual clothing and also for its cross promotion of surf films and surf comps as well as its seminal seventies psycho-pop posters created by the late Peter Ledger.
Golden Breed was 'in between sets' or relatively dormant for the best part of the 80's and '90s until a team of dedicated players resurrected the prized surf brand.
Nick van de Merwe, CEO of Golden Breed explains, "Golden Breed is now freshly positioned squarely in the roots and retro culture of contemporary surfing".
The new Golden Breed concept store at the entrance to Hastings Street in Noosa, Queensland, Australia carries the label's entire range plus a range of over 60 new boards, as well as all your necessary accessories, plus a fine assortment of beach culture collectables.
Its staff also live up to its reputation as a classic surf store with Cronulla stylist Dane Wilson heading up a staff of dinky-di surfers including hot-rat Ezra Norris, a finalist in last year's Noosa Festival Noserider event.
Golden Breed also sponsors Harley Ingleby who is currently ranked number 3 in the world and number 2 in Australia.
